Presenting Multi Best in Show winner Aust Ch Meroolestate
Kristie
PK was bred by long time breeder Bill
Cakebread of Batemans Bay in NSW. When I spoke with
him regarding a pup he insisted that this bitch
was in his mind the best he has bred. So I decided
to take a gamble because for me to continue in the
breed I needed to find a really good strong foundation
bitch.
PK arrived on my door step at 6 weeks
of age having been transported from Batemans Bay
to Cessnock. My first reaction was shock! I thought
she was the ugliest ACD I had ever seen.
How disappointed I was.....................
But there was something about this
ugly little bitch that I couldn't put my finger
on. Something that obviously caught the judges eye.
She started her show career quietly not really doing
much in Baby Puppy classes. But once she reached
the age to get points towards her Aust Ch title
I was amazed at her progress. So much so that she
was one of the youngest ACD to ever gain her Aust
Ch title. 9 months and 2 days of age.
Not only that but she then went on
to get her first of 2 Best in Show wins at 11 months
of age. She also won several classes in group, and
was a multi specialty In Show winner.
So......... How wrong was I............
how right was Bill Cakebread.
She not only stole the judges hearts
but stole mine as well. Her personality was just
hard to explain. Her eyes danced with love and delight.
She had a mischievous smile and a wicked way. I
loved her so dearly.
Her maternal duties took her away
from the ring but she didn't disappoint me there
either. She is the dam of the greatest winning ACD
in breed history Multi BIS/BISS Royal CC winner
Aust Ch Kombinalong Super "K".
PK went to the Rainbow Bridge in September 1999
at 16 years and 9 months of age.
She will go down in the history books as being
one of the top foundation bitches of her time.
